The first camera that I got was a phone with a 2 Megapixel sensor in 1st year of my Engineering graduation. From that phone's camera I used to take pictures of almost everything. And eventually I started enjoying to have the collection of digital images that are clicked by me. I learned basic editing in picasa to enhance my photos and started to edit all the images that I capture. That phone's camera was not exceptional but it helped me to get into this passion for photography.
After 1 year, that phone got lost and I upgraded myself with a Lumia 720. And I bought the Lumia just because of its best in class camera that time. Lumia 720 took me to a next level where I learned about composition and colors.
Then after one and a half year later that phone also got lost and I again started to look for an upgrade. Then all my research came to an end when I saw the Lumia 1020, one of the best camera phone of all time.
Lumia 1020 was amazing and because of its Pro Cam app I learned the basics of photography terms like ISO, Shutter Speed , White Balance, Manual Focus, Exposure Compensation etc. and their affects on a photograph. After getting the Lumia 1020 , my interest in photography increased many times. I started to take interest in learning these things and also learnt Adobe Lightroom to edit my images in it as my Lumia 1020 could shoot in Raw format too.
Just because of photography, I started to enjoy travelling too because travelling to new places would give me more opportunities to capture more beautiful images.
I did mobile photography for 4 years and I learned almost everything that a mobile camera could do. But then I thought to upgrade myself with a DSLR so that I could improve even more and do the things that I can't with a mobile camera.
I worked and saved the money for a DSLR and finally bought Canon EOS 760d. The first few months in DSLR photography were very crucial and everything in it seemed so difficult and I was not getting the kind of shot that I was thinking of. So I started to learn the basics once again and watched countless Youtube tutorials on it and finally became comfortable with my camera in few months. To be able to capture any kind of shot you should be aware of all the technical aspects of your camera and lenses from in and out. I shoot in Raw and then edit those shots in Adobe Lightroom. I don't do over editing because I want my images to look natural therefore I try to make things correct in camera itself rather than relying on post processing. I am also learning Adobe Photoshop to take my editing skills to a completely next level.
Now in my free time I read as much as possible about photography and its gears , latest technologies and advancements in this ever changing industry.
Its been a year using DSLR, still whenever I go somewhere with my camera I get to learn something new each time. And that learning makes my travel worth.
My main genre of interest is Landscapes and Monuments but I also like to capture Animals and Nature. I am learning Portraits and Candid also.
For me photography is a art which no one can teach you until it is coming from your inside. No one is a perfect photographer, everyone is on a particular level and it is the learning attitude that makes us jump from one level to the upper next.
